Pretty in Pink

Because it’s almost Valentine’s Day…

I have the notion…

To turn everything around me…

PINK.

Consider yourself warned.

Pink Rice Krispies Treats

Ingredients

3 tablespoons butter

4 cups mini marshmallows OR 1 (10 ounce) bag of regular marshmallows *** the mini marshmallows are easier to melt***

6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal

PINK SPRINKLES! (crystals, not jimmies)

To Make

Coat a 9X13 pan with cooking spray. In a large sauce pan (I mean LARGE– like “lemme cook a pound of pasta” large) melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir stir stir until they are completely melted. When the marshmallows are about halfway “melty” add pink sprinkles to get your desired color. Remove the completely melted marshmallows from the heat and stir in the cereal. Stir until everything is evenly combined and then spread in the prepared pan. Let them cool completely, cut, and EAT!

Tip: Cover EVERYTHING- hands, pan, spatula- in nonstick cooking spray or you might have marshmallows in your hair (or maybe that problem is only exclusive to me; who knows?)

Note: This is really just the regular Rice Krispies Treat recipe with sprinkles. It’s happy.

  3. […] Quaker Toasted Oatmeal is darn near perfect. You can stuff cereal into muffins. You can make it into treats that are drenched in pink sprinkles. Chex Mix, anyone? Corn Flakes are smashed and sprinkled over casserole. Chicken is dredged […]
